Pune-based startup MeraTractor bags INR 5 Cr in a Pre-Series A funding round. This funding round was led by Vibhor Sahare, CEO and Co-founder of ANS Commerce, Real Time Angel fund and Digital Futuristic Angels Network. On the other hand, this addition of INR 5 Cr funds brings the total raised capital to INR 7.25 Cr.
Furthermore, investors like Gaurav Gupta( CEO of Adani Capital), Shashank Kumar( Co-founder of Dehaat) and many others invested in this funding round.
The startup is an innovative firm and intends to utilize the funds in supply chains. These funds will enhance technology to align services. Furthermore, the funds will also be used to scale the operations. MeraTractor plans to expand its dealership network domain with the help of funds.
Hence, it will create an environment for the company in many areas.
Company’s Background
Set up in 2018 by Sajith Abraham and Monak Goyal, MeraTractor is an agritech startup that is also a marketplace consisting of both physical and online sales. It is a ‘Phygital’ marketplace. This Pune-based startup aims to create an entire ecosystem for all those involved in the farm sector. It plans to develop a one-stop market for all participants in the farm sector.
However, the startup lacks assets but holds complete transactions of the business. Additionally, the sales will deal in agritech based in rural areas. So, the startup plans to enter rural towns to scale its operations.
MeraTractor bags funds fulfilling aims
India is one of the leading countries in agriculture. However, due to a lack of awareness about modern tech and capital, small farmers remain behind in the race. MeraTractor is now dealing as a bridge between small-level farmers and modern-day mechanisms. MeraTractor aims to fulfill all modern tech requirements of farmers. It provides farm mechanisms for low and marginal farmers.
The aim of creating an ecosystem will be built around various checkpoints. It includes the supply check, demand, financial assistance and documentation, etc.
