Studio Sirah, a Bengaluru-based next-gen game studio raises $2.6 M in a Pre-series A round. This round of funding was backed by Kalaari Capital and its seed investor Lumikai.
This next-gen game studio plans to utilize the funds for a mega event. The infused funds will be used to globally launch its flagship gaming title, Kurukshetra: Ascension. This mega event will be executed by June 2023.
Furthermore, the company will also look forward to its second title. These funds will also be used to build Studio Sirah’s second title.
This fresh round of funding is not the first round for Studio Sirah. Earlier, the startup also raised $830 K in a seed funding round. The round was backed by Lumikai and many other angel investors.
Kurukshetra: Ascension
Kurukshetra: Ascension is the flagship title of Studio Sirah. It is a card battler, a free-to-play game. This flagship title is based on India’s two great epics- Mahabharata and Ramayana. Furthermore, the player will be in the roles of legends of the book like Arjuna and Shri Rama. As per the company, the game will be an exciting and thrilling product.
Studio Sirah Background
Set up in 2020 by Abhaas Shah and Prateek Shah, Studio Sirah is the next-gen Indian game studio that builds Indian-themed games that are unique and historic. Additionally, it builds mid-core games which showcase Indian culture. The platform is available on both PC and mobile.
It also claims over 120K downloads of Kurukshetra: Ascension in the Beta version.
The Indian gaming space has grown in recent years. It has attracted investors and VCs. The sector has also bagged funds for growth and operations. Along with this, unique themed games, purely dedicated to cultures and ethnicity are coming into the scene.
Furthermore, Studio Sirah aims to grow the company globally. It has dropped a unique theme game for users. The name itself appears as “DEADLY”.
