Kochi Open Mobility Network widens its presence across the state. The tie-up with ONDC will now allow users to discover transport operators and services.
To make this idea of public transport network so accessible, the Kerala Government’s transport authority has taken this idea into action. With KOMN’s integration with the Central Government e-commerce platform, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), it will now expand to the whole state.
“The launch of Kerala Open Mobility Network as a part of ONDC takes us one step closer to our goal of democratizing the digital ecosystem and being a single point of access for various services. With the support of the Transport Department, Govt of Kerala will eventually enable access to various mobility services. This will then give the people of Kerala more choices of transport, and at the same time, the service providers will also benefit from the easy and wide discoverability of services. This is a journey we have just embarked upon and will become a catalyst for the expansion of open mobility networks across India”, said, T. Koshy, MD & CEO, of ONDC.
The integration of KOMN and ONDC represents another step toward accessibility through single windows for all goods and services. Kochi Open Mobility Network (KOMN) has successfully set up an innovative solution by combining taxi associations and metro booking systems into an integrated platform on one network.
Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the launch event of Kerala Open Mobility Network held on 4th Nov at Grand Hyatt Bolgatty Convention Center in Kochi.
KOMN was implemented under the Kochi Metropolitan Transport Authority (KMTA), with the support of the FIDE(erstwhile Beckn) Foundation. The Government’s ONDC project which is being kept hyped as UPI for business will enable small traders and businessmen to access digital technology.
