Meta hits setback, two major posts now vacant.
WhatsApp India Head, Mr. Abhijit Bose, and Director Public Policy Meta, Rajiv Aggarwal have reportedly quit the company. They resigned just a month after the resignation of Mr. Ajit Mohan, Meta India’s head.
Earlier this month, Ajit Mohan has left the company and joined Snap. He joined snap as the President, Asia Pacific.
Last week, Meta announced its biggest layoffs. The company would be reducing around 11000 jobs whole across the world.
Mr. Abhijit Bose was appointed as the first country head for WhatsApp in any country in 2018. Bose was made to execute WhatsApp payments business. Along with the payments business, he also led the responsibility to expand the reach of messaging app in India.
The Whatsapp payment business is still struggling to secure its base in India. And the exit of Bose feels like Nail in the coffin for Meta.
“I want to thank Abhijit Bose for his tremendous contributions as our first head of whatsapp in India. His entrepreneurial drive helped our team to deliver new services that have benefited millions of people and businesses. There is so much more Whatsapp can do for India and we are excited to continue helping advance India’s digital transformation,” said, Will Cathcart, Head of Whatsapp.
