Bengaluru-based, car-sharing platform Zoomcar appoints Naveen Gupta as the new Country Head for India. Along with this, he will also be handling the post of Vice President of the company.
The new role of Naveen Gupta as country head for India comes with many responsibilities. He will deal with maximizing the growth of the company and also operations. Naveen Gupta will also be responsible for enhancing the customer experience in the country for the company.
With over more than 11 years of experience in the automotive and eCommerce sector, Naveen Gupta is a global automotive leader. He has led many high-performance teams and handled the growth and expansion of many companies. Mr. Gupta’s experiences and diverse skill set will be beneficial to the company.
Naveen Gupta has previously worked with many prestigious companies like Hero Moto Corp, Redbus, Swiggy and Cars 24.
Zoomcar’s Background
Zoomcar is a domestic car-sharing marketplace. It was founded in 2013 by David Back and Greg Moran. Zoomcar has a huge customer base and it operates in more than 34 cities.
Mahindra and Mahindra, Sequoia Capital, Ford Motor Company and others are some of the institutional investors in Zoomcar.
In total, Zoomcar has raised a total funding of around Rs. 673 crores. In the latest round of funding the company stood at Rs. 1773 crore in valuation.
The company aims to include more than 50,000 cars on its platform. It also plans to grow over 100 cities this year.
Zoomcar will provide Rs. 10000 as a joining bonus to the individual car owners. In addition to this, the company also offers incentives for high-rating hosts.
ZoomCar, with a vision of expansion and growth, launched Zoom Car mobility services in 2020. Not only this, the company raised around $92M in Nov 2021 for expansion. The funding round was led by SternAegis Ventures, along with other investors.
The Company aims to file its IPO next year. Some of the top competitors of Zoom Car include Ola Drive (Ola Cabs), Revv cars and others.
