” The Bird is freed”
Elon Musk the world’s richest man finally told the reason why he acquired Twitter is because it is important to the ‘future of civilization‘ to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence.
Elon Musk further, told its advertisers that it should be “Warm and Welcoming to all” and “The most respected advertising platform in the world” and enable users to choose the experience they want to have.
It’s for real this time, After months of long legal battle, bad memes and will they-or-wont-they-chaos to put your favorite rom-com to shame, Elon Musk has closed his 💲44 billion acquisition of Twitter. But just days before they were set to go to trial, Musk surprised everyone by saying he’d buy Twitter after all.
Musk had renamed himself “Chief Twit” on his Twitter bio page. Musk has assured to overhaul Twitter’s business model, take it private and loosen rules against harassment, abuse and misleading claims.
Musk immediately fired key executives, including CEO Parag Agarwal, it is clear sign that he wants to overtake the social media company. Twitter’s Chief Financial Officer, Top Lawyer, and Head of Public Policy were also dismissed.
In one of his tweets, Musk disclosed why he is interested in buying the social media platform and said that he doesn’t want it to become a “free-for-all hellscape” where anything can be said with no consequences
Conclusion for the months long saga is just the beginning of a new chapter of uncertainty at Twitter, raising a million questions about what the platform is actually worth, what is it for and what exactly, he plans to do with it. Finally we don’t know what the future has in its store for one of the world’s biggest social networks.
