The Central government has declared that the country’s Recruitment Exams conducted in India by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will not be based only on India’s national language Hindi on Wednesday, 7th December 2022.
The country’s Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and the Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha Ajay Kumar Mishra professed in the Parliament house about the same. He also eliminated the rule of mandatorily using the national language of India Hindi in all the offices and educational centres run by the Government.
While replying to one of the questions proposed on this issue by the member of Parliament A.A Rahman, the Union Minister Mishra said that there are no proposals issued by the by the government to conduct the SSC and other Government recruitment Exams only in the Hindi medium.
The Union Minister said that the mode of recruiting Exams led by the SSC and UPSC are usually based on both the Languages Hindi and English. Whereas the Staff Selection Commissions’ non-technical paper for the Multi-Tasking post, which is Paper II is held in the languages which are added in the Constitution’s Eight Schedule.
About the Recruitment Exams
The Staff Selection Commission employs for Group B and Group C categories in the offices, Ministries and departments run by the Government. While the examinations held by the Union Public Service commission are for Group A and Group B positions. The Group A or the Class I officials in the Central Civil Services are appointed by the President of the country while the Group B or the Class II officials in the State Civil Services are appointed by the specialised officials on the order of the President.
The Recruitment Exams of both the SSC and UPSC consist of the Preliminary exams are objective based, where the participants have to choose the correct option. The exams are conducted in both the languages Hindi and English. Whereas the UPSC mains are conducted in all the languages of the country wherein, the candidates have to write the complete answers to the Questions. The languages and the Literature exams of the UPSC Mains are not based on any of the regional languages.
